About Sharon Lee’s Table

Sharon Lee’s Table was inspired by my natural love of writing, my curiosity about everything around me, my enthusiasm for gardening and my passion for cooking.

Some of my earliest memories are of wonderful meals at the tables of my grandparents from both sides of the family. True to the spirit of Maryland hospitality, guests were welcome any time.

My parents also conveyed warmth and affection to family and friends through in the foods they served – down-home cooking that was far from exotic but comforting and delicious. Meals around the table were a ritual that I carried forward to my own family and friends…enjoying conversation as much as the food.

The tables in my kitchen and dining room are neither new nor fancy. However, they’ve provided a comfortable setting for great meals and convivial conversation. Whether family and friends were gathered round or we were entertaining guests from the business or entertainment worlds, all voiced their appreciation for good, old-fashioned home-cooking.

Thanks to my cookbook collection and  a treasure trove of recipes handed down through my family, I make meals mostly from scratch.  Seasonal  produce from Maryland farms and produce stands, herbs from my garden, and the meat and vegetable stocks I keep in my freezer help me bring those long-loved dishes to life.

It’s my pleasure to share with you tried-and-true recipes that I find delicious. I hope they’ll entice you to try cooking from scratch yourself and that’ll you enjoy them too.

About Around The Park Again

I developed my writing and photographic talents working for the aviation publications of   my husband’s Wings Publishing & Production Company.  Making a gradual shift from aviation work, I began freelancing as a writer and photographer for Capital Gazette Communications, LLC in 2005.

I found I had a particular talent and passion for covering community news.  From 2010 to 2020, I wrote and provided photographs for the column Around The Park which appeared on Thursdays and covered life in the Greater Severna Park community of Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

My  photographs have appeared in magazines ranging from motor sports publications like Air Classics and Air Progress  and my articles have appeared  in lifestyle magazines like Capital Style and Annapolis Home .

However, it’s traversing the highways and byways of Severna Park and surrounding communities that I really enjoy.

Thus, I’ve launched “Around The Park Again” with Sharon Lee as a way to stay connected with area neighborhoods, schools, churches, organizations and historic sites.
